It’s the Year of the Dog and the Chinese New Year is commemorated through activities, decorations and with sumptuous food which is meant to give blessings for the new year.
The names and looks are symbols of wishes for prosperity, happiness and auspiciousness.
Chinese New Year Food
One of the things that the Chinese take pride in is “Food” and that is why whenever it’s Chinese New Year, the food has to be grand and delightful.
Some of the common dishes served during this time of the year are the following; Spring Rolls (for prosperity and wealth), Dumplings (to live a wealthy and prosperous life), Noodles (to longevity to life), Steamed Fish (surplus and wealth), Steamed Chicken (reunion and rebirth), Rice Cake (symbolizes gold and silver bricks or bars), Vegetable Dishes and Hot Pots.
The Celebration at Limketkai Luxe
The day started with a lively and colorful Dragon and Lion Dance which really got the onlookers into the mood and have the feel of the Chinese New Year.
It was an amazing number which astonished everybody. After the two dances, the guests went to Kave Restaurant to partake of the delectable spread of the Chinese New Year Buffet. Here are some of the palatable dishes included on the Menu.
