With so many food adventures I’ve had in my lifetime, I can really say that Roadhouse Café is indeed one of my favorite restaurants. I’ve been a witness to how they evolved through the years from the day they opened at SM City Uptown until the day they changed their look and then opened another branch at Centrio Mall. It’s because me and my family are regular diners in this place.
That is why I was stoked after my team received an invitation to their VIP Night. On the day of the event which was last August 31, 2017, several bloggers, influencers and top media representatives gathered to be introduced to Roadhouse Café’s new menu items and best-sellers.
Program Proper
The night started with Ms. Kate Nalzaro delivering her opening and welcoming speech to the attendees. She gave a brief background and history about Roadhouse and the company it belongs to.
According to Kate, the first branch of Roadhouse Café is in Valencia City. Since it became a hit to their customers there, the owners decided to open a Cagayan de Oro branch in 2004 at SM City Mall Uptown. The fans of the resto spread like wildfire and more have come to love the food offered at Roadhouse as well as the place.
Because of this, a 3rd branch was opened at SM City Ecoland and due to its continuous success, a 4th branch was then put up in 2013 at Centrio Mall. Roadhouse has been in the business for 17 years now which proves that it has really become a favorite of food lovers.
MMHC (Marianito Montesclaros Hospitality Corporation) was established in 2016 and this was also when Roadhouse became connected to the company. This corporation is a progressive, dynamic game player in the Philippine hospitality industry and the brand was founded due to the success of Roadhouse Café.
Later on, another company was formed from MMHC which is called “Marianito Montesclaros Enterprises Inc. or MMEI”. It is one of the largest construction companies in the Philippine infrastructure industry.
Kate further revealed how these companies came to be. She related that they started with humble beginnings several years before, with no restaurants, no construction, no proper production and no farms to begin with. However, through many years of toil and sacrifices, the founders are finally here now where they stand.
Product Presentation
Now it was time to present Roadhouse Café’s food products and the event host, Mr. Kristoffer Jan Liao opened this part of the program.
He gave the guests a brief background of the product presentor, their very own Chef Albert Chiu.
The chef was a graduate of Bachelor in Science Major in Civil Engineering in MSU and he got his cooking prowess from several decades of experience in the culinary field and his stint at Monster Kitchen Academy.
The new menu items and best-sellers presented were as follows:
Fresh Lumpia (P95) – It is an extraordinary take on a Pinoy favorite, the Fresh Lumpia. It is stuffed with slices of cabbages, potatoes, carrots, chicken, beans, nuts and drizzled with Roadhouse special sauce.
Musuan Peak Green Salad (P245) – It’s a tasty combination of fresh romaine lettuce, black olives, parmesan cheese, croutons and special dip.
Pinaputok na Bangus (P315) – A delightful fish dish that is composed of Bangus that was marinated with special sauce, stuffed with tomatoes and onions, wrapped and then deep fried to perfection.
Bouillabaisse Soup (P395) – It’s a creamy soup that consists of various seafoods such as; shrimps, mussels, shells and mixed vegetables. It is the perfect starter to a hearty meal.
Seafood in a Basket (P395) – If you want veggies and seafood mixed together, this dish is definitely for you. This basket is a beautiful combination of assorted veggies, squid, fish and shrimp plus it is mixed with Roadhouse Café’s signature sauce. Fun fact, the crust is made out of “Lutya” (it is similar to sweet potato or ube) which means, it is also edible.
Roadhouse Sisig (new) – Not your usual sisig, it uses smooth bacon dip. This means that the sauce is a combination of bacon, mayonnaise and rare spices for toppings. “Pork Maskara” was used in this dish.
Sizzling Pusit (new) – It’s squid cooked just the way you like it. This unique dish is stuffed with onions, tomatoes, salt and pepper. It is then perfectly grilled and finally topped with barbecue sauce.
Sizzling Pochero (P695) – Known to be Roadhouse Café’s signature dish and a customer favorite.
The pochero is saucy, appetizing and extremely delicious! The meat used is from the company’s very own farm.
Desserts to Remember
Now it’s time to get to know Roadhouse Cafe’s best desserts on the Menu, here they are!
Mango Pineapple Melt Crepe (new) – This mouth-watering dessert is composed of several layers of crepe and dark chocolate was used by Chef Albert to serve as the perfect complement to this sweet treat.
Salted Caramel Moist Cake (P155) – My favorite among the desserts, this cake is so inviting and tastes amazing! Beligan chocolate was used in this cake and what makes it so sinfully delicious is the infusion of caramel sauce into it. What a lethal combination!
Sapin-sapin Cheesecake (P145) – A cheesecake with a modern twist. It combines two desserts together, Pinoy favorite kakanin “sapin-sapin” and the eternal “cheesecake”. What do you get? An epic dessert item for those with an adventurous palate!
Sizzling Brownie Ala Mode (new) – This sweet delight is composed of brownies, topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce but what makes it unique is that it’s placed on a sizzling plate then served to you!
Drinks and Beverages
Roadhouse Cafe has a wide range of beverages, but what was served to us are their signature drinks such as; Cucumber Lemonade and Watermelon Shake. Both taste really good!
After all the food items were presented by Chef Albert, a picture-taking ceremony took place then the guests were treated to a luscious and satisfying dinner. All were able to have a taste of the new menu items and their current best-sellers.
Everyone went home happy bringing home Roadhouse Café’s delicious “Cheesy Ensaymada”, a sweet finale to a beautiful night.
If ever you’re looking for somewhere to dine with family or friends, come to Roadhouse Café.
You will never regret your decision because everything here is cooked with grace, passion and elegance. Once you’ve tasted them, you’ll keep coming back for more.
