Probinseano Restaurant: A Taste of Filipino Cuisine That Stays in Your Mouth

Probinseano is located at the first slot of Center Point Arcade in Corrales Street. It’s easy to see because of its wide space and huge signage. The name Probinseano was derived from the owner and chef’s name “Sean”.

According to the owner, he named the place as such since he grew up in Cagayan de Oro and this province is something he holds dear. That is why he named his restaurant as such. Aside from that, the movie “Probinsyano” which is very popular, also inspired him to name his dining place after it.

This new Filipino dining place has a warm, homey atmosphere when you enter. Everything looks native and very Filipino.

Sean said that the restaurant’s design is the result of a collaboration of ideas between him, his mom and his dad.

Bamboo is the main component of Probinseano’s design to give it that “Pinoy native” vibe. Aside from that, wood also has many uses and Sean wants to promote that in his establishment.

Must-try Dishes

The restaurant boasts exquisite Filipino dishes. Talking about what foods they highly recommend to their customers as their signature dishes are the following; Sizzling mixed seafood, Beef rendang, Chicken teriyaki salad, Grilled bangus, Kare-kare and Bulalo.

They also offer Shabu-shabu items like fish balls, marinated chicken, lumpia, squid, kikiam, tempura, chorizo, etc. that are perfect for a cook-your-own-food experience.

Sean plans to add variety to their menu by adding new items every week. This is to ensure that there will always be something that customers will look forward to at their restaurant.

They offer fruit wines from Davao that cost P400-500 per bottle depending on the brand. The restaurant is HALAL.

New and Upcoming Offerings

DAMPA – Before entering Probinseano, you’ll see a freezer that contains marinated seafood which allows you to pick items and choose how you want them cooked either fried, grilled, sutukil, etc. This offer is currently available from lunch until dinner. Payment is per order.

Carenderia ni Sean – This will be launched few months from now and it will offer slow-cooked food at very affordable prices. Some examples of the home cooked dishes they’ll offer are; bulalo, kare-kare, balbacua and adobong pula among others.

Shabu-Shabu Grill – This is one of Probinseano’s current offerings. It’s at P395 per head and eat-all-you-can basis.

Snack Bar – Sean plans to come up with extraordinary desserts rarely found in Cdo restaurants. He plans to create sizzling desserts, fried ice cream and others then showcase them in this new restaurant offering. This will launch a few months from now.

Eat-All-You-Can Buffet at P150 – The owners are planning to come up with an All-you-can-eat buffet at P150 per head in the near future. This is to allow customers to satisfy their bellies and enjoy their food without harming their wallet.

The Owner’s Corner

Mr. Sean Pacasum is the main proprietor and head chef of Probinseano but his family is his co-owners in the business. He took up BSHRM at Enderun Colleges at Bonifacio Global City.
