Seda Centrio hotel just launched their newest addition at Misto Restaurant yesterday, August 17, 2017.
It’s called “Poke Bowls” and can be availed anytime of the day starting today at Misto. Prices start at P200.
Poke Bowls Launching
Last night, several VIP guests, representatives from the media and some bloggers attended the event. They were first treated to cocktails and overflowing wine.
In an unexpected twist of events, the guests were invited to enter Seda’s Sinamay Function room and this is where the real action takes place.
The hotel’s Marketing Executive, Ms. Eiya Alinabon Pupos hosted the event and welcomed the attendees.
She then called up to stage Seda’s Hotel Manager, Mr. Armand Angeles.
Upon seeing the ingredients on our tables and after all of us were made to wear black and white aprons, we knew what we were getting ourselves into. It’s like a scene straight out of Gordon Ramsay’s TV Show “Masterchef”.
It indeed built up the excitement as Armand started introducing their newest addition to Misto, the “Poke Bowls”. After providing some information about it, a tutorial video was played on screen to show the guests how to prepare the dishes.
When this was done, everybody started making the dishes following Armand’s instructions.
The dishes prepared were; “Tuna Poke with Avocado & Cucumber Noodles” and “Salsa Tuna”.
Some of the hotel staff served as judges to the dishes and the winners of the said contest were given gift certificates they can enjoy at the hotel.
After the cooking contest and the announcement of winners, a raffle draw took place and the winners received gift certificates, movie tickets and an overnight stay at SEDA Hotel.
The Viajeros band provided some cool and unique tunes to entertain the crowd and serve as an ice breaker.
A few moments later, another raffle draw happened. To end the night, a picture-taking ceremony took place and the guests all went home happy and with new things learned.
What is POKE?
In case you were wondering what poke is, it is actually the Hawaiian term which means “to section” or “to cut” and is a raw fish salad that is being served as an appetizer or main course in Hawaii.
It is also sometimes being referred to as chunks of raw, marinated fish (tuna), which is then mixed with rice then topped with vegetable and Umami-packed sauces.
Some consider it as the next generation of sushi but is easier to eat and prepare.
