Last November 1, 2017 (Wednesday) – Philippine Airlines (PAL) finally started their daily flight route from Cagayan de Oro to Davao through an “Inaugural Flight Send-off Ceremony”. The event was held at Laguindingan Airport and it was graced by plenty of VIP Guests, PAL Executives, government officials and the first set of passengers who are travelling to Davao.
These include the following; Mr. Rabbi Vincent Ang (PALExpress AVP for Commercial and Business Development), Mr. Eddie Alejandro (CAAP-Officer-Incharge), Ms. Ave Gladys Gabucan (OIC-City Tourism), Ms. Josephine Roque (DOT Region X) and Mr. Decius Esmedalla (DOT Region X).
Aside from that, Cagayan de Oro PAL Officers were also present such as; Mr. Abelardo F. Plaza (Branch Manager), Mr. Mark Francis Baliuag (Airport Head) and Ms. Margaretha A. Paguidopon (Sr. Account Officer) among others.
The program was headed by AVP for Commercial and Business Development – Mr. Rabbi Vincent Ang, Cagayan De Oro ASD Manager – Mr. Mark Francis Baliuag and PAL Cagayan De Oro Sales Manager – Mr. Abelardo Plaza.
The ceremony was hosted by Ms. Angelica Rianne Ignacio Gallardo. It all started with Mr. Rabbi Ang delivering his opening remarks and he also discussed what everybody needed to know about their new flight route which is from Cdo to Davao.
After that, a slicing of the cake which says; “Philippine Airlines – CGY-DVO” took place then a ribbon-cutting ceremony ensued.
When it was done, a picture-taking ceremony took place with all the attendees.
The passengers were then escorted to their flights and this was the end of the event.
What’s it Like to Fly with Philippine Airlines?
For the inaugural flight from Cdo to Davao, the Bombardier Q400 Next Gen aircraft was used. The “Q” in Q400 means “quiet” and it really lived up to its name since the flight was calm, quiet and smooth.
Aside from the relaxing flight experience, the interiors and exteriors of the aircraft are very clean and spacious. PAL staffs are friendly, warm and courteous.
Aside from that, we also appreciate that PAL gives free snacks to their passengers which other airlines usually don’t.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience which proved that flying with PAL is indeed a great choice. We hope to see more new flight routes from PAL soon but for now we are delighted to know that a route from Cagayan de Oro to Davao City is now available making it convenient to many travelers to and from that location.
