Freezie just made a comeback with its new name “Moonsky & Sunny”, new look and exciting new flavors! It is still located at the Ground floor of Centrio Mall but this time in front of Guess boutique.
What’s with the Name?
It’s now called “Moonsky & Sunny” because of Sir Jayhan’s sister who loves watching a husky named “Moon Moon” on YouTube.
Aside from that, the name sounds millennial and can be distinguished with several possibilities unlike with “Freezie” which sounds like it is boxed in just a single category.
Brief Background and Info about the Owners
Moonsky & Sunny, formerly “Freezie” is a family business, the Regner family. It all started when Jayhan (one of the founders and owners) and his mom started experimenting with unique ice candy flavors at home. They distributed it to different establishments and it was a hit!
Not long after that, the family decided to team up, start a new business and this time incorporate those ice candy flavors into their ice cream products which are now the flagship products of what used to be “Freezie”, a homegrown ice cream shop here in Cagayan de Oro.
Fast forward to present day, one year later, Moonsky & Sunny (Freezie) now has 6 branches, three in Cagayan de Oro and three in Cebu City.
Launching of New Brand, Ice Cream Flavors, and Products
Last Saturday, May 12, 2018, Freezie launched their new brand “Moonsky & Sunny” at Centrio Mall. The event was graced by one of the owners and founders, Mr. Jayhan Regner and PR Manager, Ms. Roanne Viana from Manila. The launching was also attended by top bloggers in the city.
The event was made extra special since the new brand had a Free Upscoop promo to which their first customers enjoyed during the weekend.
This day also marked the launching of their brand new ice cream flavors which really delighted our taste buds. The two new flavors are; Amaretti E Varonnica and Tea Mangosaurus Rex.
Amaretti E Varonnica – We instantly fell in love with this new ice cream flavor of Moonsky & Sunny! The moment it falls on your lips and tongue, you can taste that cherry and vanilla goodness playing in your mouth. It is indeed heavenly!
Tea Mangosaurus Rex – I like that the tea infused is there is light you can barely taste it, the mango flavor overpowers and it’s delicious! Can’t get enough of this mango concoction!
The two new drinks they’re now offering are; Basilisk Benguet (pineapple + ginger + basil combo) and Basilisk La Union (a mixture of strawberry, calamansi, and basil).
So if you feel thirsty on a hot sunny day, head on to Moonsky & Sunny and quench your thirst with one of their brand new drinks!
