If you ask me which travel spot in the Philippines would I visit again, it would definitely be Boracay! We spent a total of 3 days there in 2012 and those were the most unforgettable days of my life! Boracay Island is located in Caticlan, Aklan. It is a long stretch of white sand beaches divided into 4 stations and the night life in that place is so alive. It almost feels like nobody sleeps there!
Just because it’s Boracay, doesn’t mean you need to spend a fortune to be able to go there and spend your vacation. As long as you know where to eat and stay, having a P30,000 would already fit 4 persons.
During our stay there, we spent our nights at LM Residence and their rooms are P2,000 per night (the cheapest one is good for 4 persons with 2 beds). It’s a good deal at the time because the room is air-conditioned, it has its own bathroom, cable tv and Wifi. It even came with free breakfast!
What I loved most regarding the location of the inn where we stayed is that it is very near the shore. So anytime I’d like to take a dip, I’d just go outside and the white sand beach is just within reach!
After strolling around, we began to look for places where we can eat. There’s a wide selection of restaurants, hotels, food stalls and all you can eat buffets ranging from P300 and above per person.
At Smoke, you can spend around P150-200 per person per meal! It’s very affordable! Just be quick cause cheap fastfoods easily get crowded and you can’t dine there when it’s full. After getting our stomachs full, we continued exploring Boracay and went to these areas.
They have a small mall in Boracay called D’mall which consists of different shops and food stops. We also looked around the area and grabbed some munchies.
We couldn’t get enough of Boracay Island so we continued strolling outside D’mall and started to look for a dinner place.
Upon strolling in Boracay, we were amazed with the existence of plenty of foreigners. The Filipinos are outnumbered there. It’s a different world out there. The place is flooded with Koreans. There you’ll see Korean ladies wearing heels and bikinis and walking around everywhere.
When morning came, we surely didn’t miss the famous water sport – Helment Diving.
We had so much fun feeding the fishes! After our 3 days was up and we headed back to Cdo, I promised myself, one day I’d return to this beautiful island and make the most out of the experience. When in the Philippines, don’t miss Boracay. It’s a wonderful paradise worth seeing.
