Last October 26, 2017 – Thursday, the PIA Talakayan Show hosted by Mr. Jerome Dela Fuente (General Manager of Limketkai Luxe Hotel) was held at Mahogany Hills in Iligan City.
The show’s guests were representatives from DSWD, DTI and the Head of Bangon Marawi Task Force himself. This talakayan episode discussed the government and these various agencies efforts in rehabilitating the war-torn Marawi.
According to the representative from DTI, they have been creating and implementing livelihood programs for the citizens of Marawi. There was a line-up of events and places they were going to go where they can help the Marawi citizens learn new means of living and events where they can showcase their work in return help them gain income from these newly-acquired skills.
On the other hand, when the representative from DSWD was asked regarding their campaign’s progress in the different areas of Marawi, she mentioned that the rehabilitation process was going well in evacuation centers. She said that she and her team are focused in the psychological and emotional recovery needs of the Marawi victims.
Her team spearheaded activities that helped the children recover from the trauma brought about by the war and their current living situation. The results proved to be good as she noticed huge progress in these kids who underwent the programs as they can now be seen playing every afternoon and interacting with other kids in the evacuation centers.
As for the Head of Task Force Bangon Marawi, he said that plenty of things still need to be done and they are taking things one step at a time. Later on in the show, a video showing the summary of rehabilitation plans for Marawi including housing or relocation efforts were shown. There it can be seen that the President and other members of government agencies are working together in building new homes for the Marawi residents and the efforts they’re doing to help bring back their situation to the way it used to be.
Mr. Jerome Dela Fuente was glad to see that everything was going well and hopes that things will turn out good for Marawi City.
