115th Labor Day Press Conference and MOA Signing

Last April 27, 2017, DOLE conducted a Press Conference at Grand Caprice Limketkai Center to discuss the May 1, Labor Day activities and to do the Memorandum of Agreement signing. The event’s special guests are Atty. Joffrey Suyao, Regional Director/RCC-X Chairman, some representatives from DOLE and Limketkai Admin officers.

The event started with an invocation by Yoradyl Dawn Salapang, with the DOLE Hymn being played after. After that, the acknowledgement of participants followed. When this is done, Ebba Acosta delivered an opening message for the attendees. 18058146_10211603761543739_1308771677533781742_n

Mr. Bernie Boy Salinas then followed suit by discussing the Labor Market Information/Briefer on Job Fair.

After his presentation, there was then a MOA signing which was then followed by an open forum with the local media and bloggers.

After the open forum, Ms. Estrella Pahalla (OIC – Assistant Regional Director) delivered her closing remarks.

The job fair that transpired last May 1, 2017 offered at least 6,849 job opportunities to thousands of job seekers in Northern Mindanao. The event was spearheaded by DOLE in celebration of Labor Day. The 6,849 jobs available were available at the Limketkai Mall Activity Center which catered to various job hunters. There were around 1,894 jobs available for local employment and 4,955 jobs for overseas employment.

The top local job vacancies are Call Center agents (300), Property consultants (100), Staff nurses (45), field construction officer (40) and Sales Associate for Cdo (30). As for overseas employment, these were the job vacancies available; Nurses (500), Service Crew (400), Food server/waiter (350), Cleaner (310) and Caregiver (300). This year’s month-long Labor day Celebration in the region is anchored on the theme; “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho, Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago.”
