Business Week Mindanao and Mindanao Daily Launches Mindex Transport Coop and MDN Digital Channel

Last week, The Mindanao Daily Express (Mindex) Transport Cooperative which is the newest player in the local transport industry was launched at the Business Week/Mindanao Daily office. One of the VIP guests was Undersecretary Orlan Ravanera, who is the Chairman of the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA)

The event highlighted a double launching and blessing of two business ventures of Mr. Dante Sudaria and company which are Mindex head office and Mindanao Daily Digital Channel located on the ground floor of Tanleh building along Abellanosa Street, Cagayan de Oro.

Part of the double launching was the blessing done by Fr. Artemio Labita which was followed by the traditional ribbon cutting.

According to Mr. Dante Sudaria (Chairman of Mindex Transport Cooperative), the coming of Mindanao Daily Express Transport Cooperative will herald a new beginning in providing the riding public modern and comfortable ride with the implementation of the government’s PUVMP or Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program set to take effect on June 30, 2020.

On the other hand, MDN Digital Channel will become the Mindanao Daily Group of Newspapers’ social media platform. MDN’s Digital Channel will be hosted by John Aaron del Bando and will be live-streamed online.

Moreover, Sudaria said that the Mindanao Daily Express Transport Cooperative has applied to initially operate 15 routes in Cagayan de Oro and some areas in Misamis Oriental using modern public utility vehicles (PUV) come June 2020.

In his speech, Mr. Ravaneria praised Sudaria for his vision in moving forward his media business by creating a cooperative for the transport sector.

These are the routes that have been endorsed by the Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC) to MIndex:

  • Cugman to Cogon Public Market and vice versa
  • Bayabas to Cogon Public Market and vice versa
  • Bonbon to Cogon Public Market and vice versa
  • Iponan to Cogon Public Market and vice versa
  • Tagoloan to Agora Terminal and vice versa
  • Jasaan to Agora Terminal and vice versa
  • Villanueva to Agora Terminal and vice versa
  • Lapasan to Cogon Public Market and vice versa
  • Lapasan to Carmen Market and vice versa
  • Tala
  • Tagoloan-Alae-Manolo Fortich and vice versa
  • Cugman RC to Cogon Public Market and vice versa

The said routes are in line with the city’s transport plan as well as in support of the government’s PUV modernization program, Sudaria added.
